Valentine's Day & My Birthday

I am so lucky because I get to celebrate Valentine’s Day and my birthday on the same day! I love it! Some people may dislike or even hate Valentine’s Day but I love it! I can honestly say that I have never had a bad Valentine’s Day!

My husband is soooooo sweet! He did so much for me this year! I have to confess a weakness of mine first, before I tell you all the things he did. I kind of make a big deal of birthdays. I don’t mean to but it’s just who I am. And just so you don’t think I’m totally selfish, I like to make a big deal of EVERYONE’S birthdays. I love to go all out and extravagant for my husband’s birthday, friends, parents, etc. I know it’s kind of weird but it’s so fun. Anyways, my husband isn’t quite as crazy and insane as me so a lot of times I have an idea of all these super sweet things he’s going to do for me and when he doesn’t do every single thing, I feel bad. But it’s not his fault because I never told him. I just assumed he could read my mind.

So anyways, this year I told him some things that I would like. One of the things on the list was for him to make me a homemade cake (meaning a Betty Crocker cake mix). He acted like he didn’t want to and he didn’t know how, etc, etc, etc. Well, the morning of my birthday, I wake up to find that he had stayed up until 3:00 am to make me my birthday cake as a surprise so I wouldn’t know he was doing it. Seriously? Is that not the sweetest thing?! He also wrapped all my gifts, cleaned the house, did the dishes, etc. To me, this is HUGE because he doesn’t cook or clean. This was the best birthday present I could have ever received. It’s the little things that mean soooo much to me, not material things.

After we woke up, we exchanged Valentine’s gifts and cards and then I opened my birthday presents. Then we headed off to Hobby Lobby, my favorite store and then to breakfast at IHOP. Following breakfast, we spent about an hour shopping at the mall and then picked up some Subway to take with us for lunch at The Phoenix Zoo. It’s our tradition that we do every year on my birthday. Talmage had a BLAST and it was so fun to reminisce about our first date there and to bring our 2 KIDS there too!

After a tiring day at the zoo, we came home and relaxed. We ended the day by eating at Olive Garden and watching “Letters to Juliet”, my new DVD I got for my birthday. The day was PERFECT! And I owe it all to my wonderful, handsome, sweet, caring, and sexy husband.
