He had a party with my dad and Linda at Chuck-e-Cheese on Saturday, August 29th. They brought a batman cake and presents. We had fun eating pizza and playing games. We also had a family party on Sunday, August 28th with my family at our house. We grilled, opened presents and had BATMAN cupcakes and ice cream. Talmage LOVES Batman so naturally his cupcakes were Batman.
Jacob took the day off for his birthday so we could have as much fun as possible. We started the day off by having cereal and Talmage opened his first present, a Batman bowl to eat his cereal in. Then we sang Happy Birthday to him and he blew out 3 candles from his Ding-Dong. Jacob's family has a tradition of having having your own individual cereal boxes to choose from and then a ding dong for each birthday. Then we hid his presents and he had to find them and then, of course, open them! He got a lot of Batman things including, two big batmans, a batmobile, a batcycle, etc. He also got some Superman stuff too. After he played with his toys for awhile, we took him to McDonald's to get a happy meal and play. Then it was time for preschool! He got a special hat there and they celebrated his birthday too! He brought treats for his class too! After picking him up from school, we headed to Toys R Us and then the Lego store. There he made 3 mini figures and filled up a bucket of legos! Finally it was time for dinner so we took him to his favorite restaurant...Rosa's Mexican Grill. He loves the green sauce! And for dessert, a Krispy Kreme donut! We had a blast together!!
I can't believe my baby is 3...and now a preschooler! I'm so lucky to have such a good and sweet little boy!
He is so much fun and loves to just PLAY! He is talking more and more everyday. It's amazing to watch how smart he's getting. He now knows his shapes, colors and can count to 10 by himself. He's starting to talk in sentences now and knows everyone's names in his preschool class. I love this boy so much and feel so privileged to be his mommy! Seriously, I couldn't have asked for a better boy. He never went through the terrible 2's...more like terrific 2's. He continues to be AWESOME at going potty. He's been potty trained now for a full year! It is so helpful that he can just go by himself and I don't have to worry about diapers or wetting. He's amazing...just amazing. We recently went to the doctor for his 3 year check up and the flu shot!
Oh my little Emma Lou! Her middle name is really Maren but I sometimes like to call her Emma Lou. She is so sweet and SUCH a mommy's girl! I love how much she has bonded with me but at times it can be hard when even daddy can't console her...just mommy...sigh! I'm still nursing her and she loves it! It's become more a comfort for her since she now eats solids for breakfast, lunch and dinner. She's loving her baby food and getting better and better about eating.
She'll be 9 months old on Sept 12th! It's so crazy to think that in just 3 short months, she'll be 1! I don't even want to think about that. Emma seems to have grown out of her reflux! She still ocassionally throws up but not every day or every meal like she used to.
She's sleeping more and more now as she gets older! It's crazy...I thought newborns were supposed to sleep less and less as they got older but not Emma. She's one of a kind! Right now she takes 1-2 naps a day, totaling about 1 - 1 1/2 hours. Crazy...I know! She sleeps well at night though. Usually around 8pm she goes to bed and sleeps until 6am. Then, depending on the day, she'll go back to sleep, after nursing, for another hour. I'm so thankful that she is sleeping so well now. My prayers have truly been answered!
I've noticed that she's been a much happier baby too! She is so friendly whenever we go out shopping! I always finding her laughing and/or smiling at people. I love it!! It's such a joy to see her fun personality unfold. She's also bonding more and more with her big brother. Tonight they played and laughed together for 2 whole, uninterrupted hours! I just love seeing their sibling relationship grow and the tenderness they have for each other. It's one of the best parts about having 2 kids!! I am enjoying this stage of Emma and Talmage sooo much! It's such an honor to be their mother and I feel privileged to be able to see them grow and learn.
Oh and I can't forget...BIG NEWS...Emma is CRAWLING!! She started crawling on Sunday, August 29th! Woo Hoo! She hasn't gotten crazy yet but she's definitely moving around and getting what she wants. Now I'm just waiting on her first teeth to pop! Almost 9 months and it seems as if she's been teething forever but nothing yet! And since I'm still nursing...I'm not complaining! ;)
Talmage is now 3 years old! He turned three on Tuesday, August 30th. We had lots of fun celebrating and Daddy took the day off to join the fun (Pics and details to follow). He's enjoying Preschool and loves to ride the bus everyday! It's so fun to see him grow, learn, make friends, and become independent. He is doing so well and is talking a lot! It seems that he's nearly doubled his words in 2 weeks! I'm excited for this new adventure in his life but also a little sad, realizing that he'll never be home all day with me again! :( But mostly happy and excited for him! I just LOVE to watch him grow and learn. It's very rewarding! Talmage is also a great big brother. He loves to give Emma kisses and play with her. My favorite thing is when they laugh together. I could listen to them laugh for hours!! I'm so lucky to have this fun, energetic boy!!
